Character Information
Name: Edge (full name: Edward Geraldine)
Canon: Final Fantasy IV
Canon Point: Postgame
Age: 26
History: Always a wiki link
Personality:
Edge is royalty, skilled and capable, and responsible for saving the world (with help!), and he knows it all. Perhaps his pride is justified, but it doesn't come with modesty. Edge doesn't hesitate to speak his mind, toot his own horn, or just make sure his presence is known. His pride often drives him to attempt feats he ought to know better than to do alone, such as challenging Rubicante alone, then refusing to admit defeat even when he was left a scorched wreck on a cavern floor. Pride also gives him strength, though, and his pride also gives strength to others; his position as the prince of Eblan drove him to protect his people at the same time it drove them to give their best for him.
Edge generally is very passionate; he gives his emotions free rein when he's not putting on the cool act. He is quick to anger and quick to care, quick to take insult and quick to forgive it. He has a great deal of empathy, but he's terribly bad at expressing it or even recognizing it. In part this is because as a ninja, his passions are his strength; unleashing his rage is what awakens the full depths of his power, after all. But on a more basic level, Edge simply has an unfailing moral compass and an absolutely blazing sense of justice to accompany it.
He is also both a flirt and a sucker for women. Though he'll turn on the charm at the drop of a hat, all it takes is a few tears or a sincerely angry word to completely bend his will to that of the girl in question. As King, he may have led his people with conviction and compassion, but nonetheless he constantly blew off the boring parts of the job to go flirt with girls, to his advisors' unending dismay.
Despite these glaring personality flaws, though, Edge is a steadfast companion, determined to see through the tasks he sets for himself. He has been training as a ninja and a prince all his life, and he HAS earned a lot of the pride in himself he flaunts. Nor does he ever make a real fuss about being a prince (except possibly to pick up the ladies); the position doesn't bring privilege with it, to his mind, but duty, which he gladly welcomes. When Eblan was destroyed, his first priority was to get his people to safely, and then to avenge it. Whatever his own failings may be, he has a very strong sense of right and wrong, and his efforts will always fall on the 'right' side of the scale.
Abilities: Edge is a fast, comparatively fragile melee fighter who knows some level of martial arts, but is most skilled with twin katanas. He is capable of throwing virtually any weapon and some things that are not to inflict grievous damage on a foe. He is also capable of stealing items off of foes in the heat of battle.
Edge is a master of ninjutsu, which is an ability akin to black magic. These abilities are described here -- but in summary, are the summoning of various elemental attacks, smoke for escapes, pinning an enemy by stabbing their shadow, and creating mirror images of himself.
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
God/Shinki: Shinki
Why?: An arrogant man used to being a leader will go in interesting places when he no longer knows he is a leader.
Cause Of Death: An assault of monsters still lingering in the Tower of Bab-il slams into Eblan; Edge gives his life to protect his people and buy them time to escape.
Vessel: Fuma shuriken (e.g. giant shuriken that can fold up)
Name Location: Over his heart.
Power: Mastery of thrown weapons: the wielder may throw virtually any object with lethal precision and accuracy. This power functions even when Edge in vessel form is folded up and carried, worn, or holstered. It does not give the wielder increased strength or leverage, so they can't throw anything they couldn't naturally throw in the first place.

"Hey there," Edge said all suavelike, eyebrows arched as he turned to the girl who'd stopped next to him. She looked straight through him even as he held his posture, then snapped her fingers and started rummaging through her purse.
The ninja stared in some confusion for a moment, then sighed and scratched at the back of his head. "Right. Don't get noticed down here on the Near Shore. I guess that's the only way they can keep the cute girls from swooning over a ghost, huh?"
Not much comforted by his own claims, Edge leaned back against the wall, fingers tapping against it absently. He could wait here all day, no problem, but that didn't mean he had to like it. At least, he mused as he began digging through his pouches, he could test the sharpness of his shuriken--
When the crash shook the ground nearby, his head jerked up, all thoughts of boredom and girls gone. Heavy concrete cylinders had tumbled off a flatbed truck, narrowly missing a pedestrian on a sidewalk. Only Edge's eyes could see the ayakashi still lurking on the back of the truck, its eyes swirling within the depths of its form as it sought out more mayhem to cause.
"You monster!" Edge snarled, drawing his blades as he charged across the street. Fighting an ayakashi was all well and good, a fun little adventure -- but stopping a murdering monster was another matter entirely.
